Zimbuild Eyes Partnership with Malaysian Construction Tech Firms

Harare, Zimbabwe-Zimbabwe's prominent construction and infrastructure company, Zimbuild, is poised to collaborate with Malaysian construction firms specialising in advanced construction technologies, writes our Staff Writer.
The announcement was made during BuildXpo Malaysia 2023, an International Construction Transformation Conference (ICTC) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Tinashe Manzungu, the Managing Director of Zimbuild, revealed the company's interest in partnering with Malaysian firms to integrate advanced technologies into their construction and infrastructure projects.
Speaking at the conference, themed 'Leading ESG in Construction,' Manzungu highlighted the opportunities to connect with global construction giants and explore key segments such as construction technology, construction materials, equipment, machinery, systems, services, and start-ups in the construction industries.
"We have met with interested parties from Malaysia who are keen on investing in advanced technologies in construction and infrastructure to modernise the structures and systems," said Manzungu.
He emphasised that Zimbuild is also seeking long-term investments in Southern Africa through Zimbabwe to address funding gaps in construction and infrastructure.
The company aims to modernise its construction framework and learn from the expertise of Malaysian construction practises.
The conference provided insights into the modernization of construction methodologies, commonly referred to as Construction 5.0, as observed in Malaysia and other countries globally. Manzungu highlighted the interest of Malaysia in contributing technologically to Africa's construction industry.
BuildXpo 2023, hosted by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia and managed by Qube Integrated Sdn Bhd, aimed to be Asia's premier business platform for the construction and building industry, anticipating around RM1 billion worth of business transactions.
