Youth urged to stay focused

NSANJE, Malawi - Friends of Gladys Ganda (FGG) has urged the youth in Nsanje Lalanje Constituency to remain focused to achieve economic independence in the country, writes Moses Thole.
The group was formed to support Gladys Ganda, Member of Parliament for the area, and to provide skills training for youth like carpentry, welding and tailoring.
"Ganda has the ability to help youth realize their dreams," said FGG Chairperson Charles Tchungulo at an event Monday. He urged the crowd to re-elect Ganda in 2025.
Tchungulo cited Ganda's work building health centers, schools, bridges and water pipelines in the constituency.
Councilor Hussein Ngwali also praised Ganda's development efforts, including lobbying for aid after Cyclone Idai. He reminded residents to get ID cards to vote next year.
Senior Group Nyan'ga thanked Ganda for finishing projects like the Nyamalikombe Bridge which helps residents cross the river.
The Jan. 1 event awarded K100,000 jerseys to the winning team, Phokera Young Stars. Runner-up One Love FC received K80,000 and jerseys. All eight teams got K20,000.
