Happy moments

Malawi: Foundation for Civic Education Social Empowerment (FOCESE), a Malawian youth organisation led by young women, has reached out to 280 adolescent girls and young women affected by the recent natural disaster in Nsanje and Chikwawa districts.

Annette Nalikungwi, the organization's Communication and Women Economic Justice Officer, said they distributed school bags, notebooks, and writing pens in an interview after making the donation on Monday at Bangula Admarc.

She added that the donation, which went to 140 people in each district, included dignity kits.

The initiative was carried out with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) totalling K4.7 million.

Edison Njembe, Nsanje district gender officer, thanked the organisation for what he described as a timely and kind gesture.
