Women's Network Calls for Investing in Women's Progress

ABUJA, Nigeria— Women Supporting Women Network, a non-profit organization, has issued a call for concerted efforts and investment to empower women and accelerate societal progress, in commemoration of International Women's Day 2024, writes Winston Mwale.
The United Nations theme for 2024 is "Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress," with a campaign focus on "Inspire Inclusion."
In a press release, founder Toyin Omozuwa said investing in women is "essential to accelerating progress in all areas of society, from economic growth to social development."
"When we inspire others to understand and value women's inclusion, we forge a better world," Omozuwa stated, urging governments, corporations, NGOs and individuals to prioritize initiatives, programs and policies that empower women through education, leadership opportunities and equal access to resources.
Omozuwa called on stakeholders from various sectors to collaborate for "more comprehensive support and opportunities for women's advancement."
The network vowed to continue "inspiring, encouraging, and empowering women to pursue their dreams, overcome obstacles and achieve their goals" via mentorship, networking events and advocacy.
Honouring trailblazers and changemakers, Omozuwa urged women to persevere, saying, "Believe in your power, embrace your uniqueness, and never underestimate the impact of your voice. Together, we can break barriers, defy stereotypes, and create a more equitable world."
