Adopted at the Fourth World Conference on Women in 1995, the declaration is considered a landmark document for women's rights globally.
It outlines goals across various issues affecting women and girls, including poverty, education, health, and political participation.
WDN-Z emphasizes the declaration's 12 key commitments, which include:

2. Ensuring full implementation of women's and girls' human rights
3. Promoting women's empowerment and participation in all spheres of society
4. Addressing structural causes of poverty
5. Enhancing women's health and reproductive rights
6. Eliminating violence against women and girls
7. Ensuring equal access to education and training
8. Promoting women's economic independence
9. Recognizing women's role in peace and security
10. Strengthening mechanisms for women's advancement
11. Promoting balanced media portrayal and environmental decision-making
12. Eliminating discrimination against girls
The network calls for urgent action and cooperation among governments, international organizations, and civil society to achieve these goals.
