Wilderness Safaris Supports Miss Botswana's Project for Disadvantaged Children
OWS commended Chombo's efforts and wished her the best of luck as she represents Botswana at the 71st Miss World pageant in India.
Maun, Botswana - Okavango Wilderness Safaris (OWS) announced a P150,000 (about $11, 000) contribution to support the "Genesis Project," a philanthropic initiative of Miss Botswana Lesego Chombo, writes Winston Mwale.
The project aligns with OWS's values and its commitment to empowering children through its "Children in the Wilderness" program.
Established in 2023, the Genesis Project aims to bridge the gap in opportunities for children from poverty-stricken communities by fostering their emotional, social, and cognitive well-being.
"We are thrilled to support this project and the important impact it has on Botswana's children," said Joe Matome, OWS Caretaker Managing Director.
"We all have a collective responsibility to empower the youth and children of Botswana, and The Genesis Project helps accomplish that."
The project supports parents in disadvantaged communities through developmental programs, equipping them with skills to nurture their children's well-being.
It also aims to broaden the children's horizons by exposing them to new experiences and opportunities.
"We are proud to have the support of Okavango Wilderness Safaris," said Chombo.
"Our goal is to build the capacity of parents to understand the 'Concerted Cultivation' parenting approach and equip their children for success. We believe this can make a significant difference in their lives."
OWS commended Chombo's efforts and wished her the best of luck as she represents Botswana at the 71st Miss World pageant in India.
