BLANTYRE, Malawi — Mighty Mukuru Wanderers bounced back from two consecutive away losses with a 3-1 triumph over Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos in Saturday's TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium, writes Happy Valirani.
Christopher Kumwembe gave Wanderers an early lead in the third minute, but Chifuniro Mpinganjira equalized for Dedza in the 20th, ending the first half at 1-1.
Substitute Isaac Kaliati, later voted man of the match, turned the game in Wanderers' favor with goals in the 51st and 64th minutes.
"We struggled a bit in the first half," said Wanderers' interim coach Meke Mwase. "At break, we worked on those mistakes. After making two substitutions, we started controlling the game. Congratulations to the boys."
Dedza coach Andrew Bunya lamented his team's missed opportunities. "We had a lot of chances but failed to convert them. The two goals we conceded in the second half demoralized our team's style."
