Wanderers Edge Tigers 2-1 in Thrilling Super League Match at Kamuzu

BLANTYRE, Malawi — Mighty Mukuru Wanderers secured a crucial 2-1 victory over Mighty Wakawaka Tigers in a tightly contested TNM Super League match at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday, writes Happy Valirani.
Isaac Kaliati gave Wanderers an early lead with a well-curved free-kick in the 7th minute.
Tigers equalized through substitute Messiah Kachingwe in the 37th minute, capitalizing on Precious Chiudza's free-kick.
The deadlock was broken in the 89th minute when Wanderers substitute Francisco Madinga rounded off Tigers defenders before beating goalkeeper Lucky Tizola to clinch the win.
"It was a difficult game," said Wanderers' Assistant Coach Bob Mpinganjira.
"We started well, got a goal in the early minutes, but then we relaxed and Tigers came back and equalized. We made some changes when we saw that we were having some difficulties. We brought in Vincent Nyangulu and Francisco Madinga and this paid us off."

Despite the defeat, Tigers Head Coach Leonard Mpulula praised his team's effort.
"We have accepted the defeat, it was a tough game. But I have to congratulate the players for the job well done despite the defeat, they have fought up to the final whistle," Mpulula said.
Kaliati was named man of the match for his outstanding performance.
In other Sunday fixtures, Silver Strikers defeated Civil Service United 2-0, Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos edged Karonga United 1-0, and Chitipa United drew 1-1 with Creck Sporting Club.
