Wanderers Demolish Baka City 10-0 in TNM Super League Rout
Baka City remains rooted to the bottom of the league with eight points from 20 games.
BLANTYRE, Malawi— Mighty Mukuru Wanderers crushed Baka City 10-0 in a TNM Super League match Saturday, propelling themselves within striking distance of league leaders Silver Strikers, writes Happy Valirani.
The lopsided victory at Kamuzu Stadium saw Isaac Kaliati net five goals, earning him man of the match honours and catapulting him to the top of the Golden Boot race with 14 goals on the season.
Kaliati opened the scoring in the fourth minute, followed by Misheck Botoman in the ninth.
Clement Nyondo added a hat trick, with goals in the 28th, 39th, and 76th minutes. Gaddie Chirwa also found the net for the Nomads.
The win moves Wanderers to 41 points, four behind Silver Strikers, who have a game in hand.
"It was a very good game, and we thank the players for the win," said Bob Mpinganjira, Wanderers' assistant coach.
"We discussed that if there is a chance to score goals, we should score, and I am very happy that we have done it."

"That's part of the game, we have accepted the defeat," Baka City coach Kondwani Mwalweni said.
"We are trying as much as possible to at least start getting points, but luck is not with us."
Zeliat Nkhoma of Kamuzu Barracks trails Kaliati in the Golden Boot race with 12 goals.
