Wanderers Appoint Mwase as Interim Coach After Ramadhan Exit

BLANTYRE, Malawi — Malawian football club Mighty Mukuru Wanderers has appointed Meke Mwase as interim head coach following the resignation of Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan, writes Happy Valirani.
In a press release Monday, Wanderers confirmed accepting Ramadhan's resignation tendered on Sunday, citing the team's poor performance as the reason.
The Burundian tactician took over in February on a one-year deal after Mark Harrison's December exit.
Under Ramadhan, Wanderers won three, drew three and lost two of their eight matches, leaving them fifth in the Super League standings with 12 points. His departure followed consecutive 2-0 losses to Silver Strikers and Mzuzu City Hammers.
"Mighty Wanderers Football Club 2021 Limited's Board and Management have received and accepted the resignation of its Head Coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan effective 26th May, 2024," the club statement said.
"Subsequently, the Club has appointed Assistant Coach, Meke Mwase as the interim Head Coach until further notice."
