Malawi: The Secretary General of the Economics Association of Malawi (ECAMA), Andrew Kumbatira, believes that the 2022 university students’ debates organised by his organisation and others will help the country's youth better understand public financial management and demand accountability from duty-bearers.

In an exclusive interview with AfricaBrief Editor-in-Chief, Winston Mwale, Kumbatira stated that this year's debates, which started on 14 October 2022 at the Malawi Institute of Management in Lilongwe, will undoubtedly equip the country's university students with great leadership skills that will help them stir Malawi in the right direction when they become leaders.

The European Union Delegation in Malawi and Oxfam in Malawi are providing technical and financial support for the debate competition, according to Kumbatira.
