Malawi: Dr Anthony Gunde, Associate Professor of Media Communications at the University of Malawi, has urged all Malawians who have not been immunised to get vaccinated without being discouraged by misconceptions and myths, as there are none.

Speaking to AfricaBrief, Dr Gunde stated that they are organising these mobilizations to dispel the myth that COVID-19 is only for the wealthy and that they are the only ones who die. Instead, everyone needs to get vaccinated and protect one another.

Meanwhile, Gunde urged the crowds on the mobilisation tours to spread positive messages about Covid-19.

Halima Tuabu, a University of Malawi lecturer, also addressed the issue and encouraged people regardless of their religious or cultural beliefs.

Tuabu stated that the entire purpose of these mobilizations is to remove people's negative mindsets because Covid-19 is real.

George Bulombola, the deputy Regional Information Officer, agreed with the two and encouraged them to get vaccinated without being carried away by misconceptions, but rather to have good access to information from responsible people.
