DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania — Ubongo, Africa's leading children's edutainment organization, is revamping its acclaimed program Ubongo Kids for its sixth season, signaling a transformative shift in the continent's educational entertainment sector, writes Winston Mwale.
The makeover reflects Ubongo's commitment to innovation as it enters its second decade. "Our refreshed look epitomizes our dedication to remaining agile and responsive amidst Africa's dynamic educational landscape," says Michael Baruti, Ubongo's Creative Director.
Over ten years, Ubongo Kids has become the most widely distributed African edu-cartoon globally. Now, it's adapting to compete with diverse entertainment options.
"Innovation lies at the heart of what we do," Baruti emphasizes. "We strive to ensure Ubongo Kids remains a beacon of educational excellence."
The program champions inclusivity through characters like Nuru and Tabasamu, who represent children with disabilities. Season Six fully embraces this ethos.
