Malawi: Tumaini Letu held a pre-party to raise funds for the festival in order to hold the most loved free festival in Malawi's history.

The pre-party was held on Friday night at Tyre Trove in Lilongwe's Area 4.

This comes two weeks after the Tumaini Letu announced that the festival might be cancelled due to a lack of funds for resource mobilisation.

During the pre-party, Tumaini Letu Board Chairperson Zilani Gondwe expressed her gratitude to the community for providing funds for the Festival.

She stated that the fund in their custody is getting closer to the target amount.

Zilani also stated that the 8th edition of Tumaini will be colourful because it will include a variety of packages that people will enjoy at Dzaleka Refugee Camp.

Among those who performed at the Tumaini pre-party were Erik Paliani, Don Tarz, Lakers Band, Malinga Mafia, Blasto, to mention but a few.

Tumaini festival is a free festival held at Dzaleka Refugee Camp with the goal of raising funds for the refugees living nearby.

The festival gathers refugees, indigenous Malawians, and tourists.
