Three men arrested in Dowa for possession of offensive weapons

The suspects, Gersom Edward, 35, Richard Edward, 25, and Prince Kaunda, 25, were arrested on January 16, 2023, at Dowa Boma Trading Centre.

Malawi: Dowa police have arrested three men for allegedly being found in possession of offensive weapons.

The suspects, Gersom Edward, 35, Richard Edward, 25, and Prince Kaunda, 25, were arrested on January 16, 2023, at Dowa Boma Trading Centre.

"At around 16:00 hours, one of the officers received information from well-wishers that there were three strange men who were moving around the SFFRFM premises where subsidy fertilizer was being sold," said Sub Inspector Gladson M'bumpha, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Dowa Police Station.

Acting on the tip, police officers arrested the suspects and found them in possession of two offensive weapons: pepper spray and a gun.

The suspects will soon appear in court to face charges of being in possession of offensive weapons.
