Temi Otedola Named First Nigerian L'Oreal Paris Ambassador for Africa
"Words cannot describe how honored I am to partner with L'Oreal Paris Makeup," Otedola said in a statement.
PARIS- L'Oreal Paris has named Nigerian actress, entrepreneur and influencer Temi Otedola as its new digital brand ambassador for makeup in Africa, the first time the iconic cosmetics brand has had a Nigerian representative, writes Winston Mwale.
The 27-year-old daughter of Nigerian billionaire Femi Otedola will join the ranks of L'Oreal ambassadors like Viola Davis and Kendall Jenner as the face of the brand's Infallible makeup range in Africa.
"Words cannot describe how honored I am to partner with L'Oreal Paris Makeup," Otedola said in a statement.
"L'Oreal Paris was among the first beauty products I was introduced to as a young girl playing with my mother's makeup."
Otedola called it an exciting journey to team up with a brand that "truly inspires me" and embodies confidence and making a difference.
Issima Oniangue, L'Oreal's general manager for makeup in sub-Saharan Africa, hailed Otedola's "unique style, confidence and passion for beauty" as the perfect fit for the brand's ethos of empowerment and sophistication.
The partnership "marks a new era of glamour and innovation in beauty for the region as we continue to celebrate and cater to the diverse beauty of African women," Oniangue said.
Founded in 1909, L'Oreal Paris says it has promoted women's self-esteem and equal rights for over a century through its "Because I'm Worth It" motto and initiatives honoring female volunteers.
Otedola's ambassadorship promises to resonate widely as a voice for African beauty and empowerment, the company said.
