MALAWI: The music industry is becoming increasingly competitive, and an artist's trending crown can be lost within a blink of an eye.

People have been treated to a musical feast of new releases over the last week.

The music discussion centred on two current young music engineers, Patience Namadingo and Eli Njuchi. Gu Gu Gu - Sugar Bang Bang Bang.

With no patience after releasing Sugar single Namadingo, he drops another track Bafumu Bane.

Namadingo aka Doc, as usual, announced the new single on his Facebook page with music alerts hours before its release.

The single was finally released on time and amid the euphoria of Gu Gu Gu - Eli Njuchi's buzz.

Bafumu Bane continues to receive positive feedback from music fans and critics.

This reporter contacted music video/audio experts in the music industry.

"Each song has its own character… think of Lucky Dube's album, think of Joseph Nkasa's famous album. Each song has a different character. That's what is lacking in these projects,” said one of the music directors who wanted not to be named.

"Every new single is sounding the same. The concept, arrangement, harmonies.. etc. This guy is not operating under any pressure. I think he should take time and bake something different."

He also commented on the video for the single - visuals. In his tone, the music critic stated that the plot of the music video lacked some crucial elements.

He pointed out that the story in the visuals appears incomplete and that it is not fully told.

He based his analysis on the lady, whose identity he claims is hidden throughout.

This videographer, who has been in the music industry for a while, claims that "it is only building climax but not giving audience orgasm of the story."

Patience Namadingo, who recently relocated to Zambia, has a large fan base he affectionately refers to as Namafans.

The artist recently released Sugar, which competed with Gu Gu Gu by rising star Eli Njuchi.

The song Bafumu Bane was released on Saturday and has received 84k views on YouTube in 17 hours.
