LILONGWE, Malawi- Point of Progress and OXFAM Malawi say they are committed to providing primary and secondary school students with information about Sexual Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR) so they can make informed choices regarding their sexual health, writes Moses Nyirenda.
This comes after a recent quiz and debate that the organizations held in Lilongwe under their 'Her Future Her Choice' program, which aims to increase SRHR awareness among youth.
"We want learners to be able to critically think and communicate issues related to what they learn in class and what our project teaches them about sexual and reproductive health rights," said Innocent Luesha, Point of Progress Head of Programs and Advocacy, on Thursday.
Luesha added that the organization hopes to reach many more students across Malawi with information on SRHR.
OXFAM Malawi Her Future Her Choice Program Coordinator Rejoice Kankhande said the program aims to boost SRHR awareness among youth, including primary and secondary students, so they can make informed choices about their sexuality.
"I'm thankful for the knowledge," said Esther Mwausegha, a Form 4 student at Mseche Secondary School.
