Malawi: Dr Dragana Bojovic, a Spanish researcher, has called for increased investment in weather and climate change forecasting, emphasising that this is critical to mitigating the effects of climate change on smallholder farmers.
Bojovic made the remarks in Phalombe during a Focus Group Discussion with Malawi's National Smallholder Farmers Association's lead farmers (NASFAM).

Dr Dragana Bojovic, who is part of a team of researchers from FOCUS Africa who are in Malawi to research how changes in weather patterns and climate are affecting agricultural production and food security in Africa and Europe.
The study is part of an African-European project being carried out in collaboration with the Department of Climate Change and Meteorological Services, NASFAM, and other European research institutions such as TMA and TARI.
