Silver Strikers Bank on Lulu, Malinga Mafia for Branding
The Bankers aim to leverage the artists' youthful following and passion for the team to increase visibility and connect with fans.
LILONGWE, Malawi— In a move to bolster their brand appeal, Silver Strikers Football Club has named popular musicians Lulu and Malinga Mafia as their brand ambassadors, writes Ziliro Mchulu.
The Bankers aim to leverage the artists' youthful following and passion for the team to increase visibility and connect with fans.
"We feel the two are relevant celebrities who are a true representation of our brand, and having them on board will ease our penetration to the fans out there," said Silver Strikers Chief Executive Officer Patrick Chimimba.
The one-year ambassadorship will see Lulu and Malinga Mafia, both avid Silver Strikers supporters, branding the team through their music and influence.
The artists have signed contracts to promote the Bankers' brand across various platforms.
"We are thankful to Malinga and Lulu for taking up these roles and we believe this will help Silver Strikers attain its goals," Chimimba added.
The move aligns with Silver Strikers' strategy to run as a corporate entity, intensifying branding efforts to enhance appeal and visibility.
The Lilongwe-based club has also partnered with companies like Mika Greenland, Betway, and Ziva Security Services for endorsements and sponsorships.
Currently leading the TNM Super League with 26 points from 10 games, Silver Strikers will face old rivals Civil Service United this weekend in Lilongwe.
Both teams dropped points in their previous matches, with the Bankers drawing 2-2 against Mighty Tigers and the Servants losing 3-0 to Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
