Secretariat Announces Winners of the 2020 SADC Media Awards
The SADC Media Awards were established in 1996 to recognise best media work in disseminating information on SADC to support the process of regional co-operation and integration in the Region.
The Secretariat of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2020 SADC Media Awards, following meeting of the Regional Adjudication Committee (RAC) held from 23 to 24, June 2020.
The first prize and second prize winners of the awards in the four categories namely; Photo, Print, Television and Radio Journalism are follows:
First prize (US$2500)Â winners are as follows;
Mr. Aristides Kito Afonso Jorge from the Republic of Angola - Radio Category
Mr Godfrey Mpuse from the Republic of Botswana - Photo Category
Mr. Ananiya Alick Ponje from the Republic of Malawi - Television Category
Mr Prosper Ndlovu from the Republic of Zimbabwe - Print Category
Second prize (US$1000) winners
Ms. Pennipher Vida Sikainda-Nyirenda from the Republic of Zambia - Television Category
Mr. Mosotho Stone from the Republic of South Africa - Radio Category
Mr. Bento Venâncio from the Republic of Mozambique - Print Category
Mr Santos Makuntima Pedro from the Republic of Angola - Photo Category
The SADC Secretariat congratulates all the winners for winning the 2020 Media Awards and for promoting SADC regional integration, cooperation and development. Â The Secretariat further encourages journalists in the SADC region to participate in this annual SADC Media Awards competition which is launched every year in September.
