Malawi: Students Christian Organization of Malawi (SCOM) students from various secondary schools in Salima gathered for a district-wide joint meeting organized by SCOM Associates Fellowship (SCOM-AF).
During the meeting, the secretary of the association, Tionge Matangula, stated that they will do everything possible to ensure that the gospel reaches every student in the district.
"Currently, we have reached over 500 students, and we are doing everything we can to spread the gospel across all of the schools in the district," Matengula said.
He also praised all of the SCOM Patrons and Matrons for their tireless efforts in coordinating students and associates for the advancement of the gospel.
Matangula also stated that students must work hard in order to achieve spiritual and academic excellence.
"As students, you must balance your spiritual and academic excellence, and hard work must be an important ingredient in order for students to achieve all of the success promises that the Bible tells us," Matangula said.
Speaking on the same topic, Msalura CDSS SCOM Patron Sley Kaomba thanked the associates for the wonderful initiative they are putting in place to reach out to students in both academic and spiritual realms.
"Our students have learned a lot about academic excellence, the word of God, and sexual purity issues, and we are grateful to all the associates for the great work they are doing," said Kaomba.
He also stated that such meetings should be held on a regular basis to boost student morale so that students can be trained on how to impact both the church and the world.
Lonjezo Maloka, a form three student at Parachute CDSS, praised their administration for allowing them to attend the gathering.
"Our friends from other schools did not attend the conference because they were close to exam dates," Maloka explained.
SCOM is an indigenous and interdenominational Christian organization dedicated to evangelizing, discipleship, and training students so that they can effectively love and serve the Lord in both the church and the world.
