Saudi Arabia Supports Malawi's Agricultural Sector with Fertilizer and Maize Seeds

Lilongwe, Malawi - The Ministry of Agriculture in Malawi expressed its gratitude to the Saudi Arabian Government for its continuous support, writes Judgement Katika.
Principal Secretary of the Ministry, Dixie Kampani, conveyed this appreciation during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Agricultural Offices in Lilongwe, where a donation of fertiliser and maize seeds was received from the Government of Saudi Arabia through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre.
The donation, consisting of 50 metric tonnes of UREA, 50 metric tonnes of NPK, and 1000 metric tonnes of seeds (approximately 10 kg each), was received with gratitude by Principal Secretary Kampani.
Principal Secretary Kampani emphasised the timely nature of the donation, highlighting its potential to aid families severely affected by Cyclone Freddy.
Kampani further disclosed that the ministry is actively engaged in assisting farmers involved in winter cropping to supplement the current crop production levels.
Kampani also noted that the Affordable Inputs Program (AIP) is in an advanced stage, signifying ongoing efforts to support the agricultural sector.
