MANGOCHI, Malawi - The Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM) has expressed its expectation of promoting excellence in the field of public relations, aiming to not only raise the society's profile but also contribute significantly to the country's development during its upcoming annual general conference, writes Humphreys Bomba.
PRSM's President, Benison Linje, made these remarks in anticipation of the annual general conference scheduled to take place from October 5th to 7th this year at Makokola Retreat in Mangochi district.
Linje emphasised that this year's conference would serve as a platform for in-depth discussions on issues affecting the public relations industry while also addressing global concepts that can enhance its development.
"We have identified numerous challenges associated with effective public relations practise in the country. Therefore, this conference will serve as a strong foundation for addressing such issues," stated Linje.
He went on to say, "This year's session will introduce trending global topics for discussion, which we believe will ultimately improve the welfare of institutions and the overall well-being of the country."
Under the theme "Complete Communicator," this year's conference aims to create an environment conducive to nurturing excellent skills that will further elevate the public relations industry in Malawi.
PRSM, a collective of public relations and communication practitioners from both the public and private sectors, was established to elevate the status of the public relations profession by developing and enforcing sustainable standards and ethics among practitioners in the country.
The annual conference is expected to bring together professionals and experts in the field, fostering a collaborative environment for the exchange of knowledge and ideas and ultimately contributing to the growth and advancement of public relations in Malawi.
