ProjectM Media Launches in Zomba, Encouraging Positive News for Development
ProjectM aims to uncover hidden talents and innovations in both rural and urban areas to tap into their untapped potential, according to Namwali.
ZOMBA, Malawi — In a bid to foster national patriotism and accelerate development, ProjectM Media Company's Executive Director, Jeremy Namwali, urged the people of Malawi to embrace positive news during the launch of his media organisation in Zomba, the Old Capital City, writes Cornelius Lupenga.
Namwali emphasised the critical role of positivity in the nation's growth, stating, "Malawi can develop rapidly only if the communities are patriotic to the country."
Highlighting the untapped potential within the rural and urban areas, Namwali stressed that ProjectM aims to shed light on the talents hidden within these regions, saying, "There are innovations in the country that need to be brought out so that they are known."
Lumbani Mvula, the founder of Trash to Cash Organisation, shared his experience with ProjectM Media Company's platform, where he showcased his innovative approach to recycling waste plastic into bricks.
Mvula expressed how the exposure transformed his initiative, stating, "Through ProjectM, my potential and initiative of making waste plastic bricks sparked interest within the country, Africa, and beyond the world."
Mvula recounted the challenges he faced before gaining recognition, saying, "Others mocked me as a mentally ill person, calling me to go to the mental facility in the district without knowing what I was actually doing."
Sylvia Thawani, representing the Mayor of Zomba City, welcomed ProjectM's presence in the city and expressed optimism about their partnership.
Thawani stated, "We are going to work together in the development of the city through positive news."
The launch event drew attendees from various walks of life in the city, including the parents of Executive Director Jeremy Namwali.
The event was further enriched by musical performances from up-and-coming artists Nathaniel Chaluluchalu and Vieweni Thondoyo.
As ProjectM Media Company embarks on its mission to promote positive news and highlight hidden talents across Malawi, the organization's efforts are expected to contribute significantly to the nation's development and sense of unity.
