DURBAN, South Africa– South Africa is gearing up to host a premier conference and exhibition on border security that will bring together top experts and leaders from across the region and around the world, writes Winston Mwale.
The Africa Border Security Week is scheduled for June 19-20 at the Aha Gateway Hotel in Durban.
The event aims to enhance border security throughout Africa by showcasing smart border control technologies and facilitating discussions on emerging challenges.
"This conference represents a unique opportunity for professionals in border security to come together, exchange ideas, and foster innovations," said the event director in a media statement released Thursday.

Serving the air, land and maritime border environments, Africa Border Security Week will explore the latest technologies, policies and strategies for safe and secure migration management.

Confirmed speakers include executives from South Africa's Border Management Authority as well as officials from the Airlines Association of Southern Africa, the South African Navy, and immigration agencies in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Nigeria.
