BLANTYRE, Malawi— Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos advanced to the round of 16 in the FDH Bank Cup after a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Nyambadwe United on Monday at Mpira Stadium, writes Happy Valirani.
Promise Kamwendo, Victor Lungu, and Lameck Gamphani each scored for Dedza Dynamos, while Erick Sadie netted both goals for Nyambadwe United in a closely contested match.
Dedza Dynamos Head Coach Andrew Bunya acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents.
"It was a hardly won battle. We were playing against a well-organized team," Bunya said. He credited their strategy of scoring early goals as key to their success.
Nyambadwe United's Head Coach Gift Kamuyang'ana lamented missed opportunities.
"We created many scoring chances but didn't utilize them," he said, vowing to address the team's defensive lapses in future training sessions.
