Malawi: Police in Chikwawa arrested a 34-year-old man for allegedly having three slaughtered cattle without a permit on July 30, 2022.

The suspect has been identified as Frackshon Mathewe of Kantefa Village, Traditional Authority Katunga in Chikwawa.

Mathew was arrested at Dyeratu Trading Center after well-wishers alerted the police that the suspect and his friends were slaughtering cattle in a certain house.

The police rushed to the scene and arrested Mathew after his colleagues escaped.

Sargent Dickson Matemba, Public Relations Officer at Chikwawa Police Station, stated that Mathew will be taken to court soon after all investigations are completed.

Chikwawa Police Station is grateful to everyone who provides information to police that aids in the arrest of lawbreakers, Matemba said.
