PMRA Warns Against Sale of Falsified Medicines
According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 1 in 10 medical products circulating in low- and middle-income countries like Malawi is either substandard or falsified.
LILONGWE, Malawi- Malawi's Pharmacy and Medicines Regulatory Authority (PMRA) has issued a stern warning on against the sale of falsified medicines, urging the public to report any such illicit activities to authorities, writes Ted Likombola.
In a statement, PMRA emphasized that the sale of counterfeit or falsified medications is a serious criminal offense that can result in a fine of up to K10 million and up to 10 years imprisonment.
PMRA advised the public to report any suspicious activities related to the sale of medicines at info@pmra.mw.
