CHIKWAWA, Malawi — The local non-governmental organization Pashello Charitable Trust has launched a campaign dubbed “Buy a Kid a Goat” in Chikwawa District, writes Moses Thole.
The campaign aims to empower physically challenged children by providing them with resources to meet their educational needs, such as uniforms and school fees.
Fellia Malola, the Executive Director of Pashello Charitable Trust, stated that the ongoing program has already benefited 50 physically challenged children.
“So far, 50 physically challenged kids have been given a goat each since the campaign was launched some months ago. We have more kids who are also expected to benefit,” said Malola.
Beneficiaries Righteous Chilenje and Estere Lloyd expressed their excitement, stating that this initiative will significantly aid their educational needs.
Nevertheless, Malola has called upon well-wishers to join the campaign.
“We need to reach many physically challenged kids within Chikwawa District. We have 80 in total. Therefore, we need more funds from individuals or organizations within and outside the country to fulfil our ambitions,” lamented Malola.
