Palestine Condemns Israel's Gaza Demolition Strategy as War Crime Escalates
The situation continues to develop as international bodies debate potential responses to the escalating crisis.
HARARE, Zimbabwe — The State of Palestine denounced Israel's intensified military campaign in Gaza, characterising recent operations as a systematic effort to destroy infrastructure after failed attempts to displace Palestinians, writes Wallace Mawire.
Palestinian Ambassador to Zimbabwe Tamer Almassri said, "Israel failed in the ethnic cleansing, genocide, massacres, and other horrible crimes against humanity.
They couldn't break the will of Palestinians, and we will never raise the white flag or leave our homeland."
Reports indicate approximately 90% of Gaza's buildings have been destroyed, with over 2 million Palestinians displaced.
Critical civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools, and places of worship, has been targeted in the military operation, according to Palestinian officials.
The State of Palestine reported severe disruption to essential services, leaving millions without water, electricity, and sanitation.
They described the strategy as a "scorched earth" policy aimed at making living conditions untenable for Gaza's residents.
In a statement, Palestinian authorities called for immediate international sanctions against Israel and condemned what they termed "76 years of injustice, oppression, apartheid, and ethnic cleansing."
The Palestinian government maintains its stance on Palestinians' right to self-determination and return to their homes, while warning that continued military operations could trigger broader regional conflict.
Israeli authorities have not yet responded to requests for comment on these allegations.
