Old Mutual Launches Tourism Frame at Cape Maclear Music Festival Site
The frames, unveiled on October 18 in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, are part of Old Mutual's 70th anniversary celebration in Malawi.
MANGOCHI, Malawi — Old Mutual Malawi is activating its newest tourism promotion initiative this weekend at Cape Maclear, coinciding with the Urban Music Party (UMP), where festival-goers can interact with the company's recently installed green photo frames, writes AfricaBrief Reporter.
The frames, unveiled on October 18 in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, are part of Old Mutual's 70th anniversary celebration in Malawi.
Four branded frames have been strategically placed at tourist hotspots: Bingu International Convention Center in Lilongwe, Chikale Beach in Nkhata Bay, Chitakale overlooking Mulanje Mountain, and Lake Malawi National Park at Cape Maclear.
"Old Mutual is committed to contributing to the sustainable development of Malawi. Through the Old Mutual Green Frame concept, we aim to promote the tourism industry and showcase Malawi's incredible natural beauty to the whole world," said Patience Chatsika, Marketing and Corporate Affairs Executive.
Visitors can participate in a social media promotion by taking photos at the frame and sharing them on Facebook with tags #WarmheartinaFrame, #TidziyambaNdifeAmalawi, and #OldMutualMalawi for a chance to win branded merchandise.
Tourism Minister Vera Kamtukule praised the initiative during its launch, calling it a "visionary" step for boosting tourism. UMP Festival Director Ken Zizwa Limamwe welcomed the frame's installation at Cape Maclear, noting its potential to highlight the festival's scenic location.
