Nurturing Artists of Tomorrow
The institution hopes to lay a strong foundation upon which these actors can build in the long run and make their mark in the arts industry.
LILONGWE, Malawi- Harmony Arts Theatre in Lilongwe has embarked on a mission to build capacity of upcoming performing artists through an intensive 4-day training program at Green Light Private Secondary School, writes Mphatso M'bang'ombe.
"Through this mentorship and skill sharing, we aim to equip these young artists with the knowledge and confidence to build successful careers," said Romeo Trywell Mdachi, Artistic Director of Harmony Arts group.
The training session that started on Dec. 27 will conclude on Dec. 30 and covers diverse aspects of theatre and acting including script writing, directing, communication, character development and more.
"We believe in creating a supportive environment where emerging artists can hone their skills and showcase their talent," Mdachi said.

Brave Chirwa, one of the participants, thanked the organizers for the "comprehensive training that will make us versatile actors."
By nurturing upcoming artists, Harmony Arts Theatre is shaping the next generation of actors and ensuring a bright future for performing arts in Malawi.
Mdachi appealed to the government and NGOs to support the program with funds so they can reach more artists across the country.
The training program is an important step toward promoting theatre arts and harnessing youth talent in the country.
