Northern Malawi Football League Gets Boosted Sponsorship Package

MZIMBA, Malawi — The Northern Region Football Association launched its 2024 Premier League season on Saturday at Jenda Ground in Mzimba district, announcing an increase in sponsorship from 15 million to K25 million, writes Victor Musongole.
During the launch, the association's general secretary, Masiya Nyasulu, revealed that Simama will partner with another company, which will be unveiled this week, while Innobuild will not sponsor the league this season.
"Simama will partner with another company which will be unveiled this week, while we will not have Innobuild sponsorship this season," Nyasulu said after the launch.
Nyasulu emphasized that their aim is to secure good sponsorship to improve competition and increase league prize money.
Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (FAM) President Fleetwood Haiya said the association will hold several capacity-building workshops to improve football in the country.
"As an association, we will hold several capacity-building workshops to equip our member associations on how we can move football to greater heights," Haiya said.
FAM's second vice president, Lameck Zetu Khonje, and Inkosi yamakhosi M'mbelwa V were among the high-ranking officials who graced the occasion.
In the launch game, Jenda United played a goalless draw against Embangweni United.
