New Classrooms to Ease Overcrowding at Katoto Primary School

Mzuzu, Malawi-Katoto Primary School in Mzuzu is set to receive new classroom blocks, which will help to ease overcrowding and improve the learning environment for students, writes Tionge Hara.
Education Secretary Mangani Katundu visited the school on Monday to inspect the construction of the new classrooms.
He said the project is part of the Malawi Education Reform Program (MERP), which aims to improve the quality of education in the country.
"This is a significant investment in the future of Malawi's children," Katundu said.
"These new classrooms will provide a better learning environment and help to improve educational outcomes."
Headteacher Linda Luhanga thanked MERP for considering Katoto Primary School for the project.
She said the school has been facing challenges with overcrowding, and the new classrooms will make a big difference.
"This is a great milestone for our school," Luhanga said.
"We are grateful for the support of MERP and the government."

The school has 44 teachers, two of whom are male and 42 of whom are female.
