Over 105 athletes and 90 relay race runners are expected to compete for prizes.
This year's marathon aims to promote healthy living and tourism in Mzuzu city, building on the success of its inaugural edition last year.
"We are excited to see a significant rise in registrations for the second edition," said Peter Mumba, chairperson of the organizing committee.
"We appreciate the corporate sponsors who have come on board this year."
Mumba highlighted additional activities planned to enhance the event.
"There will be a relay race and aerobics alongside the marathon, making it a fun-filled day for everyone."
Yotamu Mtafya, representing Mzuzu City Council, emphasized the marathon's potential benefits.
"This event will boost tourism, city visibility, and the well-being of Mzuzu residents. It's also an opportunity for hospitality businesses to attract new customers."

Beyond the half marathon, a fun run, relay race, and aerobics sessions will add to the event's liveliness.
Spectators can expect to see familiar names competing, including last year's champions Chikondi Mwanyali (men's) and Nalicy Chirwa (women's), alongside other contenders like Kefasi Kasiteni, Chancy Master, Dorice Fisher, and Teleza Master.
The race will begin at Saint John's Hospital mortuary and wind its way through various landmarks in Mzuzu city before concluding inside the stadium after a second lap.
