MZUZU, Malawi - Chikondi Mwanyali of Civil Club cemented his dominance in the Mzuzu City Half Marathon on March 10, shattering the course record he set in the inaugural year, writes Lumbani Kaunda.
Mwanyali finished the race in an impressive time of 1 hour, 6 minutes, and 47 seconds, surpassing the previous mark of 1 hour and 8 minutes.
Chancy Master from Kamuzu Barracks displayed a commendable performance, finishing second in 1 hour, 7 minutes, and 14 seconds.
Both Mwanyali and Master received additional prize money of K500,000 for breaking the record.
Mwanyali's total prize money reached K2 million, while Master received K1.5 million Malawian kwacha for his runner-up finish.
Chikondi Mwanyali's remarkable feat not only showcases his exceptional talent and dedication but also cements his status as one of the top athletes in the region.
