Mzimba Youth Group Donates Fertilizer to Support Young Farmers' Initiative
The program focuses on boosting agricultural productivity while promoting economic development through youth empowerment.
MZIMBA, Malawi - Mzimba Youth Organisation (MYO) donated fertilizer to Tinthandizane Youth Club in Gwamba Nkhana village, supporting a program that empowers young farmers through land access and agricultural resources, writes Victoria Yande.
During the ceremony in Traditional Authority M'mbelwa's area, MYO's Executive Director Nkhana praised local communities for helping youth secure farmland through their parents' support.
"We have been advocating for youths' land rights, and it is heartening to see our leadership support these young people," said Nkhana.
"They have successfully secured a portion of land through their parents' efforts, demonstrating their determination and initiative."
Club member Bubile Nkhana welcomed the donation, saying it would advance their agricultural projects.
"The fertilizer from Mzimba Youth Organisation will help us take up agricultural farming to enhance food security and economy for us to be self-reliant," he said.
The initiative is part of a broader project supported by the International Land Coalition and Rodden Berry Foundation aimed at strengthening women's land rights.
