Speaking during the funeral ceremony of the late Othaniel Hara, a revered figure known for his unwavering advocacy for cultural traditions, Jere emphasised the importance of preserving one's cultural roots, even in the face of significant societal roles.
"Being educated and holding powerful positions should not be the reason for us to restrain from our culture," Jere said.
"It's sad seeing a lot of people doing the opposite. This is our culture."
