Mulanje Festival Aims to Boost Youth Tourism, Environment Awareness
The festival, budgeted at K30 million, will begin at Gateway Lodge on the Chitakale-Phalombe road, with weekend events at Mulanje Golf Club.
MULANJE, Malawi— The Mulanje Peaks and Rhythms Festival will return Aug. 30-Sept. 1, organizers announced, writes Pemphero Musowa.
This year's three-day event, themed "Promoting Youth Involvement in Tourism, Reforestation and Cultural Arts for Environmental Sustainability," aims to showcase Malawian culture and promote sustainable tourism practices.
Festival director Michael Kwapata said, "This year's festival is a celebration of cultural diversity and aims to showcase the rich heritage and vibrant tourism potential of Mulanje."
Activities will include hiking Mulanje Mountain, sporting events, traditional dances and art exhibitions.
