Mponela Police Urges Pastors to Promote Security Awareness and Fire Safety
Mponela Police advises pastors to preach about security and warn against keeping fuel at home to prevent fatal fires.
MPONELA, MALAWI — Senior Superintendent Makalani M'bwana of Mponela Police Station has urged pastors to prioritise security in their sermons and educate their congregations on fire safety, writes Mphatso M'bang'ombe.
During a meeting with pastors from various churches, M'bwana emphasised the importance of spreading awareness about security measures.
He stated, "As Mponela Police, we urge you to deliver this message to your congregations."
In addition to security, M'bwana urged pastors to caution their members against storing fuel in their homes.
He highlighted the dangers of storing fuel, emphasising that it can lead to fatal infernos.
The meeting included pastors from Mponela Living Waters, Mponela Assemblies of God, Kapaza CCAP, Mponela Last Church, and Mponela Baptist Church, among others.
By incorporating security and fire safety into their sermons, pastors can play a crucial role in safeguarding the community and preventing potential disasters.
