Moyale Recalls Mwansa to Steer Team in 2024

MZUZU, Malawi - In preparation for the 2024 season, Moyale Barracks Football Club has recalled Pritchard Mwansa to head the team's technical staff after a disappointing 2023 season, writes Victor Musongole.
Mwansa, who was part of the technical panel last season, was attached to Mafco FC where he guided the team to two cup finals and helped them avoid relegation.
While Mzuzu-based Moyale struggled and spent months in the relegation zone, only escaping the drop through a better goal aggregate after thrashing their fellow brothers in arms Red Lions 7-0.
"We believe Mwansa is the right man to lead us forward," said club chairman Watson Chirwa.
According to the club's media release, Mwansa will be assisted by Charles Kamanga, who returns to Moyale after several seasons away, while Victor Chingoka, who was the caretaker coach after the resignation of Nicholas Mhango, will be the second assistant.
Meanwhile, the team has also appointed Gatros Thengo as the new team manager, replacing Gift Banda.
Moyale Barracks finished 13th with 35 points from 30 games last season.
In other news, Dedza Dynamos announced hiring Andrew Bunya on a two-year contract as head coach, replacing veteran Gilbert Chirwa whose contract expired in December.
