Malawi-Residents of Balaka District are celebrating the introduction of a mobile ADMARC program by Tony Ngalande, the legislator for Balaka North Constituency, writes Ousman Kaliati.

The program was implemented after Ngalande witnessed the struggles of people who had to walk long distances to access maize at the district's ADMARC depot.

Agnes Samson from Zammimba village in the district, expressed her gratitude, stating that the new program has made it easier to access maize than before.

Previously, people would have to sleep at the ADMARC depot to secure their place in line for maize, risking their safety in bushy areas and at late night hours.

Rodwell Banda also praised the program, stating that his children were missing school to wait in line for their parents.

The mobile ADMARC program has already benefited over 2,000 households in Matola, Khwisa, Mponda, and Sawali.

Ngalande emphasized that his role as a legislator is to serve the people who elected him.

"If it wasn't for these people, I couldn't be in the August House, but I'm there because they cast their vote for me, so I have to do whatever it takes to serve them," he said.
