Mitundu Baptist Seeks Sponsors for Upcoming Season
Mitundu Baptist enjoyed a successful 2023 campaign, winning the Central Region Football Association's MK15 FAM Moto League ahead of Chisomo Academy and Chatoloma ADMARC FC.
LILONGWE, Malawi- Newly-promoted Chipiku Stores Premier League side Mitundu Baptist FC is seeking sponsors for the upcoming season, according to club patron Pastor Maclean Chimwenje, writes Alinafe Nyanda.
"The whole thing is about sponsorship. My plea really is if there are any companies out there who can put their money in our team, it can go a long way in helping us achieve our goals in Chipiku Stores Premier League," Chimwenje said in an interview Tuesday.
According to Chimwenje, the team has been using its own church resources to fund operations and develop young talent, despite facing challenges.
He remains optimistic about finding support from companies, individuals or faith-based groups.
"As a team we share a vision for excellence and look forward not only to another season of extraordinary performances on the field, but also to more new players getting involved in the sport here in Mitundu," Chimwenje said.
In particular, Chimwenje cited Mitundu's untapped potential as home to many talented players and passionate fans.
Mitundu Baptist enjoyed a successful 2023 campaign, winning the Central Region Football Association's MK15 FAM Moto League ahead of Chisomo Academy and Chatoloma ADMARC FC.
That earned them promotion to Malawi's top league for the first time.
Chimwenje called on the corporate world and willing donors to lend a hand next season and help develop the sport in Mitundu and surrounding areas.
He said the club has contributed greatly to local player development despite limited resources.
