Miracle Technical College Graduation Uplifts Youth Empowerment and Development
During the 20th graduation ceremony, Miracle Technical College successfully imparted skills to 350 students, comprising 205 females and 145 males.
LILONGWE, Malawi— The Deputy Director of Technical Vocational Education Training under the Ministry of Labour, Chifundo Lodzeni, commended the management of Miracle Technical College for its collaboration with the government in achieving enabler number 5 of the 2063 agenda, writes Ellah Chirwa.
Lodzeni, who presided as the guest of honor at the graduation ceremony, described the event as a significant step towards human and capital development, enabling youth self-reliance.
Lodzeni stated, "With approximately 52% of the country's youth population, seeing numerous young people acquiring diverse skills is an encouraging development for both the Ministry and the nation as a whole."
He encouraged the graduates to form groups of 10 or more to start various businesses, thereby providing employment opportunities for other idle youths instead of relying solely on government employment.
Tenis Molande, Senior Training Programs Specialist for TEVETA (Technical, Entrepreneurial, and Vocational Education and Training Authority), advised the graduates not to exclusively seek white-collar jobs but to leverage their acquired skills to establish their companies, contributing to the nation's development.
Wanangwa Sichone, the Principal Secretary for the College, urged students to enter the labor market and apply the skills they had acquired during their three-year tenure at the institution.
Levison Failosi, a student who achieved distinction in Electrical Engineering, encouraged idle youth to utilize their youthful years by acquiring vocational skills that would contribute to the country's development.
