MCP "Predicts" President Chakwera to Win Tripartite Elections with Over 70% of the Vote
The MCP predicts President Chakwera's victory in the upcoming Tripartite Elections with over 70% of the vote, citing trust in his leadership.
NSANJE, MALAWI — Ken Zikhale Ng'oma, Director of Research and Strategic Planning for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), “predicts” that President Lazarus Chakwera will win the forthcoming Tripartite Elections with over 70% of the vote, writes Cornelius Lupenga.
Speaking to the media after a political rally at Chigumukire Primary School grounds in the area of Senior Chief Tengani in Nsanje, Ng'oma expressed confidence in the current leadership and its positive response to issues, which he believes will secure Chakwera and the MCP's victory.
"Do not be cheated by the recent foreign reports that negatively sidelined the MCP and predicted that it would lose in 2025," Ng'oma told the journalists.
Ng'oma further highlighted the growing support for the incumbent president in cities and towns, attributing it to his dynamic leadership.
He urged Malawians to disregard baseless outside reports on the election and trust in his predictions, claiming that they have always come true in previous elections.
The Malawi Electoral Commission (MEC) estimates that approximately 11 million people will be voting on September 16, 2025, for the President, Members of Parliament, and Councillors.
