MCP Assures Timely Delivery of AIP to Farmers
MCP vows to deliver AIP on time to address challenges in next season.
MPONELA, MALAWI — The Malawi Congress Party (MCP) has vowed to ensure the timely delivery of the Affordable Input Programme (AIP) to farmers in the next farming season, aiming to address challenges encountered during the previous season, writes Mphatso M'bang'ombe.
Speaking at a rally held at Mponela police ground on Sunday, Minister of Local Government and MCP Director of Youth, Richard Chimwendo Banda, emphasised the commitment of the Ministry of Agriculture to ensure the availability of fertilisers and seeds in a timely manner.
"The Ministry of Agriculture is doing everything possible to have fertilisers and seeds in good time," stated Chimwendo Banda.
The rally, organised by the MCP, saw the attendance of notable figures, including Deputy Speaker of Parliament Madalitso Kazombo, Health Minister Khumbize Kandondo Chiponda, Central Region Chairperson Patrick Chilondola, Ulemu Chilapondwa (MP), Senior Chief Kaomba, and Senior Chief Dzoole.
The MCP's assurance to prioritise the AIP for the upcoming farming season aims to avoid the challenges faced in the last season, ensuring that farmers receive the necessary support in a timely manner.
