Maranatha celebrates 7th anniversary with food donation

Blantyre, Malawi-Maranatha Natural Herbal Healing Ministries celebrated its 7th anniversary on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at its newly built office in Green Corner, along Chikwawa Road, in Blantyre, writes Happy Valirani.
As part of the celebration, the ministry donated assorted food items to 115 elderly and needy people from different townships in Blantyre, including Machinjiri, Chatha, Soche Manje, Chirimba, and Ndirande.
The food items included 10 kilogrammes of maize, 10 kilogrammes of rice, relish, milk, and sugar.
Speaking to journalists at the event, Executive Director James Maxon Nkhutabasa said he was happy that the ministry had been able to serve people with herbal medicine for 7 years.
He said the ministry had also been able to provide employment opportunities to Malawian youths.
"We started from humble beginnings, but I thank God for His grace," said Nkhutabasa.
"Now, we have 28 shops in Malawi and other African countries, such as South Africa, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. We also have over 280 employees."
One of the beneficiaries of the food donation, Patrick Chiutsi, said he was very grateful.
"I never expected that I would receive food items today," said Chiutsi.
"The food will help me and my family."
Chief Mkoma of Mkoma Village, in Senior Chief Kajombo's area, also thanked the ministry for the donation.
"The donation has come at a time when goods are very expensive," said Chief Mkoma.
"I am very glad that the ministry has considered donating food to the elderly."
