Malawi's National Beach Soccer League Set for Sunday Launch in Salima

SALIMA, Malawi— Malawi's HTD National Beach Soccer League is set to kick off its new season with a launch event on Sunday at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima, amid growing excitement and participation, writes Alinafe Nyanda.
Frankie Chisambula, general secretary of the Central Region Beach Soccer Committee (CRBSC), expressed optimism about the upcoming season.
"We're excited and motivated by the increased number of participating teams from 8 to 12 this year," Chisambula said.
The league has introduced several improvements, including increased prize money for the top three teams and the availability of first-aid kits to assist injured players.
Chisambula revealed that the committee plans to organize a meeting with participating teams to prepare for the new season.
He also mentioned ongoing efforts to engage various companies and stakeholders, with support from the Football Association of Malawi (FAM), to invest in the sport.
"We're working to make the league a beacon of excitement, competition, and sportsmanship in the region," Chisambula added.

Chisambula encouraged the public to attend and support the league's kickoff in Salima.
