Malawian Singer Onesimus Submits 'Controller' for Grammy Consideration
The Recording Academy will announce nominees for the 67th Grammy Awards on Nov. 8, 2024. The awards ceremony is scheduled for Feb. 2, 2025.
LILONGWE, Malawi— Malawian musician Onesimus has submitted his hit song "Controller" for consideration in the 67th Grammy Awards, writes Pemphero Musowa.
The Afrobeat-inspired track has been entered in the "Best African Music Performance" category.
"Thank you, Recording Academy /Grammys, for the opportunity," Onesimus said after the Grammys accepted his submission.
The artist, who recently won "Best Male Artist" at the 8th annual Hapa Awards, is currently in Nigeria filming a music video for the "Controller" remix with global superstar JoeBoy.
A Grammy win would add to Onesimus' growing list of accolades and further establish his name in the international music industry.
